Started off on the tram again and went back to the buildings I missed yesterday. Saw their Parliament, which is a very impressive building. Then walked along the tree-lined street until I came to the Town Hall. The square in front of it is to be used for the people, hence the circus is there today. I loved the trees along this street. it reminded me very much of Melbourne, because the leaves were changing colour. They really "do" autumn here. It's a bit like Sydney Road outside Princes Park in Melbourne.
My next stop was the Donau Tower. (Donau = Danube here). It was worth the very long walk to get there. Again it was through beautiful gardens. The lift takes you quite quickly to the top, and the view was superb. You could walk right around 360 degrees, and gave a fantastic overview of where things are in Vienna.
Had lunch when I came down, but the menu was all in German. (Eva I need you!) But I saw the word Hot Sandwitch, and hoped for the best and sure enough it was a toasted sandwich.
On the way back I stopped at the Railway station just beofre the River Danube, and walked across it. There are two parts ot it in Vienna - the Neue Donau ,and the Donau, with land inbetween which I presume is an island. I saw all the river boats lined up at the dock, and thought of you, Denise!
I was a bit weary after all that walking, so I decided to come home and have a rest! I join the tour tonight, so I'm not sure how often I will be able to get the Internet access to keep on uploading these musings from abroad! But I'll keep ploughing on and see where it takes me.
Thanks for all the feedback so far. Love to get your emails in return. I'm going to take the comment moderation off, so people can just add comments directly to the blog if they wish.
